Cranford Hospice Welcomes Clinical Review
“Cranford Hospice welcomes the independent clinical investigation announced today by the Hawke’s Bay District Health Board” said Mr Barry Keane Hospice Director. The investigation follows a complaint to the Health and Disability Commissioner over concerns about clinical care. “We are happy to be transparent and accountable for the quality of care we provide” said Mr Keane. “While I am sure the review may well highlight some things we can improve on, I am confident that it will show that the Clinical Team at Cranford Hospice provides very good care in line with best practice standards”.
Shaun Robinson the CEO of Presbyterian Support East Coast, who operates Cranford Hospice, was also positive about the investigation. “A formal process such as this is the right way for people to raise concerns. This investigation will be objective, independent and based on facts. There have been some very unhelpful innuendo and opinionated statements in the media of late. A formal enquiry will answer many of these criticisms and show the public that Cranford has nothing to hide and that they can rely on the quality of its care”.
